Perception is a skill that represents a character's ability to observe and interpret the world around them (learning something about an area). It involves an understanding of sensory cues, such as sight, sound, smell, and touch, as well as an awareness of the environment and the emotions and motivations of other characters. A character may be able to detect hidden objects or clues, identify potential threats or dangers, or pick up on subtle or nonverbal communication from other characters.
